Douglas, Duncan “Doug”:
Passed away on 8 August 2024, aged 80 years, at The Gardens, Rotorua. Beloved husband and soulmate of Theresa. Much loved by his children: Peter (Wellington), Alastair (Auckland), Kate (Cayman Islands) and Juliet (London), and their partners: Janet, Elaine, Jason and Johnny. Proud Grandad of Jamie, Anoushka and Marcus, and doting Papa of Mila and Lucy.
Someone with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and adventure, and for building and maintaining worldwide connections, Doug was a fine teacher, a hugely-talented biomechanist and sports coach, and a man of integrity who will be missed by many whose lives he touched.
A private cremation will be held on Friday, 16 August. Messages may be sent to the McClymont family c/- PO Box 461, Rotorua 3040

Doug taught with me in Hare Bay, Newfoundland, Canada, in the early 1970’s. He was a good friend and colleague, and Cavell and I reestablished contact 10 or so years ago. We are greatly saddened to hear of his passing and send our sincerest condolences to his family, some of whom may vaguely remember that particular time.
