William John Unwin (Bill)

UNWIN, William John (Bill) died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on 14 February, one week short of his 91st birthday. He is survived by his wife Delight Gartlein, his sister Margaret Gurney of Wellington and his children Sally Tither and her husband Phil of Havelock North, John Unwin and his wife Gill Cogan of Wellington, and Michael Unwin of Ballarat, Victoria; nine grandchildren and three stepchildren – David, Jenni, and Katherine. His late wife Laurice Tham Unwin died in 2015. His first wife, the artist, Shirley Unwin lives in Havelock North.
Bill has been cremated; a memorial gathering will be held at a future date. Donations in his name may be made to the Rotorua Community Hospice.
